Next Steps

Now that you've been admitted to the American University in Bulgaria, here are the next steps to what you should do before arriving on campus.

Confirm your enrollment

Submit your signed offer letter to your Admissions Counselor. Next, please pay the $350 deposit to AUBG via wire transfer or online payment. You can find the instructions in your offer letter or on the payment options page.

Apply for a visa

Non-EU citizens will need one for their stay in Bulgaria. AUBG’s International Student Services Office will help you obtain your student visa. You will receive an email with instructions for your specific citizenship. Please carefully follow those instructions, and contact your Admissions Counselor or the International Student Services Office if you have any questions.

Submit a health certificate

Please complete the Health Certificate and email it back to AUBG in a timely manner. For questions, you can contact the AUBG Health Center by phone or email.

Send us a picture for your student ID

Please email a portrait picture (minimum 400x600 px; JPG format) of yourself to your Admissions Counselor. This will be used for your AUBG ID card that you will receive when you arrive on campus. You'll use this card to access your room and all campus buildings, to pay for your meals and textbooks, and check out books from the library.

Summer experience for new students

During this 3-week experience, you will receive your AUBG computing accounts, be acquainted with our online platform and course registration process, take optional ENG and MAT assessments, meet your Faculty Advisor, register for your Fall 2021 courses and even take your first AUBG course – AUB 100 Steps to Success. In the end, you will have hands-on experience and be fully prepared for the academic and social aspects of life at AUBG.

Take full advantage of this early opportunity and do not panic if you are unable to have this experience during summer. You will have similar opportunities during the Student Orientation and Fall 2021 semester.
