Dimitar Galabov (EMBA’07) has over 20 years of experience in the fields of business development and management of customer service centers, outsourced services, and business processes. During those years he has taken key roles in the organization of various international companies such as MTel (now A1), Sensata Technologies, and C3i Solutions (now HCLTech). For the past 7 years, he’s been the Country Head of Sutherland Bulgaria and was one of the top 10 nominees for Manager Magazine’s prestigious Manager of the Year 2022 award.
In honor of the 20th anniversary of the AUBG Executive MBA program, we are talking to some of the alumni who were part of this journey. Dimitar shared with us more about his Executive MBA studies and the new skills he acquired.

Why EMBA at AUBG
I decided to enroll in the AUBG MBA program because I wanted to gain a deeper understanding of the business strategy and finance, expand my network and learn from experienced professionals. The program helped me achieve these goals by providing me with a rigorous curriculum and opportunities to work on real-world projects with local businesses. It was an incredible learning experience to apply classroom concepts to solve real business problems.
EMBA highlights
The highlight was the international study trip. We spent a couple of weeks traveling across several countries in Europe visiting local businesses and meeting with executives. It was an eye-opening experience that helped me gain a new perspective on global business and also spent a good time with my alumni.
Takeaways
My biggest takeaway was the emphasis on leadership development and critical thinking. I learned how to communicate effectively, challenge the status quo, take strategic decisions and organize the company ecosystem around achieving these. These skills have been invaluable in my professional life and have helped me advance my career.
AUBG impact
Looking back, the EMBA program had a significant impact on my professional life. Not only did it provide me with new skills and knowledge, but it also gave me the confidence to take on new challenges and opportunities. I am now in a leadership role that I never thought I would be successful in without the EMBA.
Piece of advice
For anyone considering the program, I advise you to take advantage of the resources available and be very active during the entire studies to make the most of the experience. And be prepared to work hard and make sacrifices, but know that the rewards are worth it in the end.
