Erasmus+ at AUBG

If you are studying at a European university and want to spend a semester or a year at AUBG, the Erasmus+ program is right for you.
How to apply
Step one
To visit AUBG through Erasmus+, your home university must first nominate you by submitting the Erasmus nomination form.
Step two
Fill in our application form (choose "Erasmus+ exchange" in the Application Type field) no later than June 1, 2022.
You'll need to attach the following documents:
- Transcript of records
- Learning agreement form
- English Language Certificate
Step three
You'll receive an official acceptance letter confirming your Erasmus exchange at AUBG.
Academics
Please note that 1 AUBG credit is equivalent to 2 ECTS credits.
Courses
AUBG offers courses across various areas of study like business, computer science, economics, politics, journalism, mathematics, arts, languages, and more. You can find a full list and descriptions of courses, as well as academic policies and procedures, in the AUBG Academic Catalog.
The course schedule for Fall '22 will be available in April and sent to you via email.
Learning agreement
Once you've selected your courses for the semester, fill in the Learning Agreement. Collect all required signatures and stamp it at your home university before submitting it.
Language Requirement
Because classes at AUBG are taught in English, all incoming Erasmus students need to submit a level B2 or higher English language certificate. Exceptions apply only to native speakers or students from universities where English is the official language.
Accommodation
AUBG is a residential institution and undergraduate students live on campus in the Skaptopara Residence Halls . With students coming from more than 40 countries, they are a diverse, safe and comfortable environment for AUBGers.
A place in the dorms will be automatically booked for you after you submit your application.
Fees
The following fees apply for Erasmus students for the Fall '22 semester:

Place in a double room (own bathroom) in Skaptopara II Residence Hall | $820 |
Student Activity Fee (covers co-curricular activities) | $315 |

The student activity fee is NOT a tuition fee and covers co-curricular activities, student wellness programs, residential events and activities, orientation events and activities, use of indoor and outdoor sports facilities, student clubs, special events, and recreation and athletic activities, etc.
The dining services deposit is available to use at the student restaurant and three campus cafes throughout the semester.
Payment
All fees must be paid before August 10, 2022 (bank transfer fees may apply).

Additional costs
Textbooks cost about $200 per semester. They can be purchased or leased (only part of the textbooks) at the bookstore on campus.
Arrival on campus
Each student should be present at AUBG for the beginning of the on-campus orientation, usually, at the end of August. We'll announce the specific dates soon.

While EU and EEA citizens don't need a visa to enter Bulgaria, Erasmus exchange students need a Certificate for Long Term Residence. Find more information on that here.
