The American University in Bulgaria (AUBG) invites applications for an open–rank temporary full-time position in the Department of Economics. We are looking for candidates in all areas of macro- and micro-economics.

The teaching load is eight course sections per academic year.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Ph.D. in economics or a related field is preferred, but we will accept applications from Ph.D. candidates;

• Must be a citizen of the European Union, or otherwise have the legal right to work in Bulgaria;

• Experience teaching college-level economics courses in English;

• A strong commitment to undergraduate teaching;

• Teaching experience in a liberal arts environment or willingness to adapt to the American liberal arts style of teaching;

• An interest in teaching introductory principles of macro- and micro-economics courses to non-economics majors will be an advantage;

• A collegial attitude.

AUBG is located in Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria. We are a selective, residential institution with a diverse student body consisting of around 1,500 students from over 40 countries. English is the language of instruction. Many of our graduates continue their education at prestigious universities in the United States and Europe. Others have contributed to the private and public sectors in the region and worldwide.
