Yossif Marinov Wins AUBG MultiTalent Quest 2021, Full Four-Year Scholarship

Yossif Marinov, a student from the 91st German Language High School in Sofia, won first place at the AUBG MultiTalent Quest 2021 and received a full scholarship for his four years of study at the American University in Bulgaria. The scholarship was generously donated by AUBG alumnus and co-founder of Dynamo Software Dilyan Pavlov (’95). The fifth edition of the competition took place Sept.10 – 12 and gathered 60 high school juniors from Bulgaria, Georgia, Albania, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Kosovo, and North Macedonia.

The AUBG MultiTalent Quest is a unique international multidisciplinary competition for high school juniors who speak English, have an excellent general culture, and knowledge in many academic and creative disciplines. The first round took place online in the spring, while the second round was hybrid with students both on-ground on the AUBG campus and online. The finalists competed in three compulsory disciplines (mathematics, debate, social entrepreneurship) and one elective (arts or sports).

The brainchild of alumnus Deyan Vassilev (’95), the quest is a joint effort between AUBG alumni, students, faculty, and staff. The competition aims to inspire and support the well-educated and socially committed young people in the region and assist them in bringing positive change to society. In addition to testing knowledge in areas such as mathematics and English, the quest also assesses the participants’ communication skills, teamwork, time management, and social engagement.
