Local Journalists Meet with the Anti-Corruption Fund

On Sunday, November 24, 2024, the AUBG hosted a workshop for local journalists with the Anti-Corruption Fund. The event was part of the US Embassy’s grant project English for Journalists which aims to enhance journalistic practices and promote informed reporting.

The workshop featured renowned experts from the Anti-Corruption Fund. Nikolay Staykov, an investigative journalist, provided insights into anti-corruption practices and investigations. Additionally, Mario Rusinov, an analyst, joined remotely to analyze the October 2024 Bulgarian parliamentary elections and discuss strategies for combating electoral misinformation and corruption.

Dr. Margee Ensign, President of AUBG, welcomed the attendees and emphasized the vital role of journalists in upholding democratic values. She expressed gratitude to the US Embassy for its continued support of this initiative.

By combining theoretical knowledge with practical tools, the workshop empowered journalists to address contemporary challenges in media and governance. This event further solidified AUBG’s commitment to fostering a strong and independent press.
