If you are interested in everything business-related, you should check out the Associates Consulting Club. It is a group of AUBGers who offer pro-bono consulting services to companies to get a taste of the real business world and gain essential skils before graduation. If you are interested in what they do and want to learn more, read our interview with the club’s President Georgi-Nikola Trayanov.
How would you describe your club in 3 words?
Professional, ambitious, fun
What is your club about?
Associates Consulting Club’s aim is to prepare pro-bono consulting projects for companies. We work with the management team of these businesses to discuss the problems they are facing, and what stops them from reaching their potential.
Our goal is to make a thorough research, brainstorm ideas, and find solutions to those problems and present them in an easy-to-follow plan so that it can be implemented.
Thus, both parties benefit from this win-win deal – we get to see how companies operate, what their issues are (while learning new skills along the way), and the businesses get a free consulting advice from AUBG students. Potentially, some members might come out with an offer for a job or an internship.
What kind of people are you looking for in your club?
People that stand out and are innovative with a creative and/or analytical mind who are able to think outside of the box. They should also be passionate about enriching their knowledge and experience in the business consulting field.
What kind of events do you organize?
Since there are a lot of clubs that organize events, we’ve decided to focus on something different – developing technical skills in the business consulting sphere. We work closely with companies on projects about marketing, finance, management, sales, etc.
What is the meaning behind your club’s name?
We wanted something that sounds professional and yet, suits the mission and the values promoted by ACC.
Associates symbolizes that teamwork makes the dream work, and Consulting represents what the club is doing.
How has being part of this club enhanced your AUBG experience?
It has given me and my team a chance to work on real-life business cases, meet business professionals and work with them on a weekly basis, do research about different markets, and make a structured plan for the company to follow. Moreover, it has developed our critical and creative thinking simply because it demands more than what we’ve already learned in university.
As for me, I found that being a leader is a special task. You have to care for your team and motivate it. You have to be disciplined, brave, and you must not be afraid of taking risks. In addition, you must find each person’s strengths and put them into good use, because what makes this club so special are its members.
