AUBG Week of Giving June 3 - 7

I am incredibly honored to receive the HRH Princess Maria Luisa AUBG Distinguished Alumni Award for Civic Leadership and Change. I am even more humbled to learn that new scholarship and fellowship programs have been named after me. This unimaginable recognition connects me profoundly with AUBG's Journalism and Mass Communication program, which has been the most valuable launchpad in my life. I feel unworthy of having a scholarship and fellowship named after me, but I am committed to earning this trust. The scholarship aims to help underprivileged students achieve their maximum potential in journalism. To support this mission, I will make a personal donation to the scholarship fund and encourage my fellow alumni to do the same.

AUBG is a special school - it gave us all such great friendships and an education that helped us become who we are today. Giving back is a way for us to pay it forward and create opportunities for the new generations to come. Building a strong network of alumni giving is key to it’s future success. Even the smallest amount counts. The impact is in the numbers of us giving, not the amount!

There is a great number of achievers within our AUBG community and we are proud with that! What if our great engagement with AUBG is such that everyone participates? Now that would be a showcase for the world!

At times when imperialistic and totalitarian regimes are threatening the democratic societies, it is particularly important to support institutions which shape ethical and democratic leaders for our future and the future of the next generations.

AUBG fosters an atmosphere where students are encouraged to uphold democratic principles, engage in critical analysis, and express their true selves within a nurturing and varied community.

I support the AUBG Giving Week because our contributions change lives, and no amount is too small.

Most of us owe our success in our chosen sphere of work due to what we have learned at AUBG. The success of AUBG improves the brand for alumni in the eyes of all stakeholders. It is in alumni's best interest to support in every possible way the academic success and economic prosperity of AUBG. AUBG is the best school in the country. My vision for AUBG is to become the best school in the region and to be known as “Stanford on the Balkans."

AUBG provides transformational educational experience rooted in its liberal arts model and taught me the importance and benefits of a developed civil society. For these reasons, I support AUBG’s giving week.
