The Alumni Diaries | Tirana, Albania Vlog with Irdi Duka (’22)

A city looks different through everyone’s eyes, especially when those people share a similar lifeline – their AUBG experience.

In “The Alumni Diaries”, we take you on a journey across countries and cultures, meeting AUBG alumni and seeing the world through their lens. From uncovering favorite spots in Tirana to sipping spiced mulled wine in Vienna, alumni invite us into their everyday lives. They guide us through the places they love, the careers they’re building, their daily routines, and the moments that made their time at AUBG truly memorable.

With just a backpack and a camera, AUBG alumnus and journalist Finn Perelstein (’24) travels from city to city, tasting local food, exploring both hidden and known spots, and having honest conversations about life, work, and what success looks like after university. Shot on the move, here are the AUBG Alumni Diaries.

Episode 1: Tirana, Albania

Our journey begins in Tirana, Albania, where we meet Irdi Duka (’22), Customer Success Manager at CData Software. He reflects on his time as a Resident Assistant at AUBG and the many nationalities that welcomed him from the very beginning, quickly becoming his community.

Irdi shares how AUBG grew into a place he truly called home. Today, he carries those experiences with him as he builds a life in his home country, enjoying Tirana’s views and nurturing his long-standing love for football.

During Orientation Week, he realized just how much there was to discover at AUBG. “That filled me with excitement,” he recalls. “I wanted to get out there, meet more people, and uncover everything that was happening within this whole ecosystem around me.”
