As the autumn leaves begin to fall and the air turns crisper, the English Language Institute at AUBG welcomes another promising academic year with enthusiasm and anticipation. With an array of students from diverse backgrounds and a dedicated team of educators, the ELI is all set to embark on a journey of growth, learning, and cultural exchange.
Diverse Student Body
This week, ELI welcomed over 500 students, young learners (aged 8-13) and adults (14+), eager to enhance their English language skills as part of the regular English courses.
On top of that, the ELI is proud to host a record number of 27 students in its Academic program. These students come from various corners of the world, including Bulgaria, Turkey, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, and Ukraine. Their shared goal is to strengthen their English proficiency to pursue higher education at AUBG or other English-speaking universities.
Continued Collaboration
The ELI continues its commitment to specialized education with a special German class, part of the collaboration with Ottobock. This opportunity allows the employees of the company in Bulgaria to get closer to their colleagues in Germany in communication and cultural aspect.
The Teachers
All of these classes are available thanks to the dedicated teachers at ELI. The team this year consists of 8 full-time teachers, 11 part-time teachers, and 3 AUBGers from the United States contributing their expertise to the English courses.
Small Class Sizes for Effective Learning
One of the commitments of ELI is to provide classes with individual attention. With an average class size of 10 to 16 students, the teachers have the chance to prioritize interactive and engaging learning experiences and cater to the unique needs of each student. This year, the students were were welcomed in the renovated classrooms that make the learning journey even more colorful and fun.
