AUBGers with a Charity Concert to Help Local Dogs

AUBGers organized a rock concert to help the local dog shelter. Members of AURA Radio and Rock Jamming Club joined forces for the charity campaign, which ended with a spectacular show at the Stage Bar in Blagoevgrad on November 24, 2022. With the initiative, they collected over BGN 1000.

During the week of the event, Blacksheep show‘s host, Monika Boyadjieva, and her team organized a special information booth at ABF where they had on-air conversations with students, faculty, and staff about the city’s stray dog problem.

The idea was born in late spring after the AURAxAUBG Festival got on stage Hug or Handshake, Jin Monic, Kerana and the Cosmonauts. That’s when Boyadjieva decided to expand her show beyond radio and invite bands to Blagoevgrad to play for charity. At the beginning of this semester, she met with the student group Septum and invited them to join the first concert.

The collected amount goes to support the Oscar and Laura Center for injured animals. With part of it, the cause pays off the debt for already purchased food, and the rest will serve for future needs of the shelter. This is the first, but not the last, concert Boyadjieva hopes to organize in her one remaining semester at the university.
