AUBG Awarded at 2024 Best Universities Ceremony

The Best Universities Ceremony, organized by the “24 Chasa” newspaper, recognized AUBG for its success at the Bulgarian University Rankings 2023. The event gathered together government representatives, including Prime Minister Nikolai Denkov, Education Minister Galin Tzokov and Sofia Mayor and AUBG alumnus Vassil Terziev (‘01), as well representatives from the top schools in Bulgaria, and business professionals.

AUBG President Margee Ensign received the award from Andrea Tognetti, Head of Human Resources at UniCredit Bulbank.

“I am deeply honored to stand before you today as the President of the American University in Bulgaria, for three decades a place where dedication to academic excellence, innovation, and civic engagement is at the heart of everything we do,” President Ensign said. “This acknowledgment from ‘24 Chasa’ and the Bulgarian Universities ranking system is a testament to the hard work and commitment of our faculty, staff, and our students.”

“At AUBG, our mission is not just to impart skills and knowledge, but to shape the leaders of tomorrow,” the President also said. “Ethical, thoughtful, and democratic. The achievements of our alumni, including the present mayor of Sofia, are living proof of the impact an education like ours can make.”

Once again, all five evaluated disciplines at AUBG hold leading positions in the Bulgarian University Rankings. Business Administration is ranked number one in the country and Economics shares first place with Sofia University. Journalism and Mass Communication, Political Science and European Studies, and Computer Science take second place.
