Program Objectives

Career Circles: An Alumni Mentoring Program aims to:

  • Enhance career readiness among AUBG students (priority is given to juniors and seniors).
  • Provide guidance on goal setting, resume and cover letter writing, and graduate school preparation.
  • Foster networking and learning through 1:1 discussions.
  • Create meaningful connections between students and alumni mentors.

Program Structure

  • The program connects high-achieving students with experienced AUBG alumni in a 1:1 mentoring format, giving them the opportunity to build a meaningful relationship with a mentor who can support their personal and professional development.

  • Career Circles: An Alumni Mentoring Program will run for seven months, from December 2025 to June 2026. Mentoring pairs will have the flexibility to organize and schedule their meetings as they see fit to best match their goals and expectations.

  • Eligible are high achieving AUBG students. Priority will be given to juniors and seniors.

  • All AUBG alumni are eligible to serve as mentors.

Responsibilities and Expectations

    • Decide with mentees on the main communication channel (i.e. email, phone, in-person, etc.)
    • Decide with mentee the parameters of the relationship, such as how often and how you will meet.
    • Share professional knowledge and insights.
    • Guide students in setting and achieving career goals.
    • Facilitate group discussions and encourage collaboration among mentees.
    • Help mentees identify and set goals, track progress, and adapt to changes.
    • Reinforce important competencies and skills valued for a successful career in the chosen field.
    • Respond to mentees in a timely fashion.
    • Commit to open a dialog and extend their knowledge whenever possible.
    • Provide constructive feedback
    • Handle any sensitive or confidential information shared by mentees with discretion and professionalism, ensuring their trust and privacy.

    • To offer any jobs/internships to mentees.
    • To offer further guidance and help to the mentee after the completion of the program.

    • Prepare and bring relevant questions or materials to sessions (e.g., resumes, cover letters).

    • Be open-minded and appreciative when receiving advice and feedback.
    • Handle sensitive and confidential information or advice provided by your mentor with respect and discretion.

    • Ask their mentor for a job.
    • Request obligatory further guidance and help from the mentor after the completion of the program
    • Facilitate the matching process between students and alumni mentors.

Participation Process

Alumni Recruitment

  • Invitations will be sent to all AUBG alumni.

Student Application

  • The program is open to all AUBG students (priority is given to juniors and seniors.)
  • Strong academic standing of CGPA of 3.0 or above is required.

Matching

  • Students will be paired with alumni mentors based on professional interests and goals.
  • Unmatched alumni will be added to a priority list for future program cycles.

Program Timeline

o November 14, 2025 – Program announcement and student application forms sent out.

o November 17, 2025 – Program announcement and alumni application forms sent out.

o November 28, 2025 – Application deadline for both students and alumni.

o December 1–5, 2025 – Mentoring pair matching process.

o December 8, 2025 – Match notifications sent to mentoring pairs.

o March 2026 – Mid-program check-in.

o June 2026 – Program conclusion and exit survey.

FAQ

  • The program is open to all AUBG students, with priority given to juniors and seniors. All AUBG alumni, regardless of graduation year or professional background, are welcome to serve as mentors.

  • Matches are made based on students’ academic backgrounds, professional interests, and career goals, as indicated in their application forms. The program team strives to create compatible and productive pairs.

  • The program runs from December 2025 to June 2026.

  • Meeting frequency is flexible and should be agreed upon by each mentoring pair. Most pairs meet weekly, but the schedule can be adapted to individual needs.

  • No. Mentors are not expected or required to provide job or internship opportunities.

  • No. Mentees should not request employment from their mentors. The program focuses on guidance and professional development.

  • Mentees should contact the Dean of Students ([email protected]) or the Career Center ([email protected]). Mentors should contact the Alumni Office ([email protected]).

  • Yes, absolutely. If mentors believe that connecting mentees with additional professionals would be beneficial, guest contributions are welcomed and encouraged.

  • Yes. The program is designed to accommodate alumni mentors from all over the world. Geographic location is not a limitation.

  • Online meetings are encouraged for flexibility and to support participants across different locations. However, if both the mentor and mentee prefer in-person or hybrid meetings, they are welcome to choose the format that works best for them.

  • Unmatched alumni will be added to a priority list for future program cycles. Students who are not matched will be notified and may be considered for future opportunities.

  • Yes. At the end of the program, both mentors and mentees will be asked to complete an exit survey. Feedback will be used to improve the program for future editions.

  • If necessary, participants may contact the program coordinators to discuss concerns. Early endings are handled on a case-by-case basis to ensure a positive experience for all involved.
