Bastian, Bettina
Bettina Lynda Bastian brings over two decades of academic and leadership experience in higher education. She is currently a Professor in the Department of Business at the American University in Bulgaria. Previously, she served as Dean of the College of Business and Law at the Royal University for Women (RUW) in Bahrain, where she oversaw the implementation of the College’s strategic plan and the redesign of its undergraduate programs.
Prior to that, she was Associate Dean of Research at the Business School of the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (USEK) in Lebanon, where she directed the school’s research strategy, managed its doctoral program, and spearheaded initiatives in entrepreneurship education. In this role, she reported directly to the Provost and led the development of a strategic plan to foster an entrepreneurial university.
Earlier in her career, as an Assistant Professor at the American University of Beirut, she led the business ethics curriculum and coordinated related courses. She is Joint Editor-in-Chief of Gender, Work & Organization, an ABS 3-star journal and a leading publication in the field. Bettina holds a Doctorate in Corporate Strategy from the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), a Master’s in Energy Science from EPFL/IFP Energies nouvelles, and a Master’s in Political Science from Freie Universität Berlin.
