Love social media, but hate misinformation? Have a knack for public speaking?

Apply to be an American University in Bulgaria / MediaWise Campus Correspondent, and teach other students across the country how to sort fact from fiction online. With support from The Poynter Institute and its MediaWise project — a digital media literacy initiative — American University in Bulgaria is hiring up to 15 Campus Correspondents to lead digital media literacy workshops in various schools around Bulgaria.

Campus Correspondents will learn digital media literacy skills and tools through multiple workshops and then teach their peers how to spot misinformation online and where to find reliable information. Campus Correspondents will conduct in-person and virtual workshops at schools across the country, produce a range of educational social media content (IG stories, Reels, TikTok, etc.), and contribute to the creation of a MasterClass Video featuring their work.

Our ideal candidate will be:

- A highly organized, motivated peer leader

- A strong public speaker

- Committed to the cause of teaching media literacy to other students

- Interested in misinformation and fact-checking

- Proficient in Bulgarian OR English

-This effort is 100 percent non-partisan. Candidates for this position must strictly adhere to that requirement as it is core to the project itself.
