Dr. Margee Ensign, AUBG President, and Dr. Angel Angelov, Consul General of the Republic of Bulgaria in New York, invite you to an AUBG Evening in New York City.

As the world embarks on a pivotal year with elections in 64 nations, involving over 4 billion people, we invite you to a riveting evening of discussion and insight. Join us for a panel discussion on Democracy in 2024: Global Perspectives and AUBG's Role.

Hear from AUBG alum Christo Grozev ('95), an award-winning investigative journalist who won the Oscar in the category of documentary cinema in 2023, and Dr. Jacob, who has recently joined AUBG as the Executive Director of the CIDC. Dr. Jacob comes to AUBG from the Organization of Southern Cooperation, where he served as the Under-Secretary-General for Research, Evaluation, and Foresight.

As the only university in the world with the fostering of democracy in its very mission statement, AUBG stands as a beacon of democratic values and democratic education. Our panel will delve into the significance of this commitment, its implications for Bulgaria and beyond, and the role of AUBG in this struggle for democracy.

Please join us in this critical conversation as we consider the role of education in shaping future democratic leaders.
