Topics in Literary Theory and Criticism

This course is one of advanced study of various literary theories and the methodologies associated with literary criticism. This course may survey multiple schools of literary theory and criticism or may focus on one form of literary theory and criticism in particular. Topics will vary but may include schools of literary theory such as deconstructionism, eco-criticism, feminist literary theory, formalism, Marxist literary theory, New Criticism, New Historicism, postcolonialist theory, postmodernism, post-structuralism, psychoanalytical literary theory, queer theory, reader-response theory, and semiotics. This course may be repeated for credit on different topics.
