Investment and Portfolio Management

BUS 4031

This course introduces the concepts and tools of security analysis and valuation and portfolio management. This course includes issues related to capital market structure and trade execution, client characteristics, asset, and security allocation decisions, market efficiency and trading strategies, and the use of option and futures contracts to manage risk. This course provides the background to enter the investment industry or related fields. Students should already be familiar with net present value models, accounting statements, and basic statistical methods (including regression analysis).
