This course offers an analysis of the structure and functioning of Bulgaria’s governing institutions and political system. Particular attention will be given to Bulgaria’s transition to democracy and the political and administrative implications of E.U. membership. This course does not presuppose familiarity with Bulgarian history and politics and is entirely based on English-language readings.
