Welcome to Disinformation and Societal Resistance, a specialized training program. This training course is a collaborative initiative by the Center for Information, Democracy, and Citizenship (CIDC), the Center for the Study of Democracy, and the Open Information Partnership, aiming to empower students with the knowledge and skills necessary to identify, analyze, and combat disinformation in a globalized and digital world.

  • Build a comprehensive foundation to identify and comprehend disinformation and its impact on societies.

  • Gain proficiency in using advanced tools and methods to analyze and trace disinformation campaigns.

  • Explore strategies to counter disinformation and foster societal resistance in Bulgaria and the broader European and Southeast European (SEE) context.

  • Collaborate on projects under expert mentorship to address current disinformation challenges.

Course Structure

  • Understand the historical, psychological, and technological aspects of disinformation and its societal implications.

  • Learn to utilize state-of-the-art tools for monitoring, detecting, and analyzing disinformation campaigns.

  • Apply your knowledge and skills to real-world scenarios, developing actionable strategies for combating disinformation (requires completion of Modules 1 & 2).

Key Details

  1. Eligibility: Open to all AUBG students. No specialized knowledge is required, but strong computer skills are recommended.
  2. Format: In-person sessions held over three weekends on February 15-16, 22-23 and March 1 at AUBG.
  3. Cost: Free. However, advance registration is required, and seats are limited.

Students accepted into the program will receive formal notification prior to the start of the course.
