The Residence Hall Director (RHD) assures the Residence Hall operations, providing an environment that enhances residential life and student development as part of the Liberal Arts education mission of AUBG. The RHD must live in the Residence Hall.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Communicates, explains, and enforces Residence Hall policies, procedures, rules and regulations to students, faculty and staff and ensures these are observed. Participates in updating the Residence Hall policies and rules.
- Cooperates with security guards to establish a successful communication and cooperation at the Residence Hall.
- Provides support and referral to students.
- Supports and guides the work of Resident Assistants in their in-hall activities.
- Coordinates resident assistants in planning and conducting residential wellness programs. Maintains current and accurate housing records for residents.
- Supervises check-in and check-out procedures, access, and furniture inventory.
- Reports repair and damage problems.
REQUIREMENTS AND DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- University degree, min. B.A.
- 1 year experience in a related field, preferably in residential life and student development.
- Strong communication skills in Bulgarian and English (min. B2.1).
- Previous experience in working with students is a plus.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and planning skills, and absolute confidentiality.
- Excellent ability to work in a diverse and inclusive environment.
- Excellent ability to work independently and in a team
