Stoyan Nedin is the Founder and CEO at Nexpur, a company that specializes in custom software development and digital marketing solutions for web, mobile and desktop. He graduated from the AUBG EMBA Program in 2014. He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in International Business and Management Studies from the International Business School, Groningen.
We talked to him about the reasons why he chose the AUBG EMBA Program. This interview was translated from Bulgarian.
Why EMBA at AUBG
I already had five years of working experience and I wanted to acquire again a bit of knowledge that I can then put into practice. I think that anyone who values life-long learning should challenge themselves to do that from time to time. I would even repeat it in five years. After all, the memory is not a USB stick and everything we don’t relearn, we forget.
The lesson
The diverse courses and professors broaden your perspective and stimulate your brain to generate ideas that don’t come to you as you read the news. The most valuable thing is that you see yourself professionally. You can compare yourself with your colleagues from different industries; you interact with the professors; you make presentations on a variety of topics, and you can see that the program opens doors to many different worlds over these 16 months.
The curriculum
Attending the classes was enjoyable and there was the right balance between hard work and pleasure. I was pleasantly surprised at how western the program is. I earned my Bachelor’s degree from one of the best business schools in the Netherlands, and the EMBA at AUBG was in no way worse in terms of quality, teaching methods, faculty and work environment. The training is highly interactive and requires you to be continuously active, which is the only way to acquire lasting knowledge and skills.
The impression
I was surprised by the great group of people who came together for the EMBA program. For 16 months, this pool of like-minded professionals has led to valuable friendships and acquaintances.
The impact
In my case, the diploma was not the cornerstone that made me create Nexpur. On the other hand, the accumulation of knowledge, acquaintances and experience leads me to believe that very often, this program will be a game-changer for a person’s career or life. In addition to a prestigious diploma, it remains a valuable experience and creates friendships that will stay with you your whole life. The benefits are numerous and unpredictable.
