This January another group of high-profile professionals embarked on an exciting executive education journey at AUBG. EMBA Cohort 17 comprises prominent executives from the sectors of fast moving consumer goods, IT, banking, design, commerce and pharmaceutics. Corporate leaders as well as social entrepreneurs will work together to gain new business insight, innovate and discover fresh industry opportunities.

The new EMBA cohort is international – students come from Bulgaria, Russia, Romania and Poland. In 1991, the American University in Bulgaria (AUBG) was established to develop leaders in Southeastern Europe who could make a difference in the rapidly changing region. Today, AUBG is №1 in Business, Economics and Journalism, according to the official ranking of Bulgarian universities released by the Bulgarian Ministry of Education in 2017.

AUBG’s mission of excellence expanded in 2003 to include an Executive Master in Business Administration (EMBA) program. AUBG’s EMBA program quickly established itself as a premier program for all of Southeastern Europe. Shortly after completing the program, many graduates assume senior leadership roles or move up within their industries.

The AUBG EMBA classroom is a lively, active place, with team meetings, debates, on-going discussions, and practical activities focused on developing individual and team skills. Courses are designed around up-to-date case studies from the modern business world. Students test their ideas against those of experts and learn from the experiences of actual businesses. Business simulations, team research projects, individual and group presentations, and the development of business plans give students invaluable experience that carries over immediately from the classroom to the workplace.
