A successful professional at IBM, current student Ivan Ivanov chose to pursue AUBG’s EMBA program to further enhance his career in the U.S. It was the opportunity to combine his work and studies, and the university’s accreditation in both the U.S. and the EU that led Ivanov to choose AUBG.
“Pursuing an EMBA degree has been in my plans for quite a while, however, work and life activities have postponed my decision to take on such a journey,” Ivanov said. “In that context, AUBG’s executive program offers an attractive and impressive curriculum as well as a flexible schedule that fits into my current work-life situation hence I signed up without any hesitation.”
Currently based in Washington, D.C., Ivanov has been with IBM for almost 17 years. He began his career as a network security engineer in the Czech Republic and after several years and different job roles, he became a pre-sale technical solution manager exclusively focused on the design and building of cybersecurity solutions for clients across Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.
“That gave me an outstanding international experience and exposure to some of the largest IBM clients,” Ivanov said. “After several successful years, I got an opportunity to move to a new Global Security Solution Design Team as a security solution architect in Washington, D.C. with the mission to support IBM’s largest accounts and provide cyber security expertise and consulting globally.” Currently, the EMBA student works as a senior managing security consultant leading a cybersecurity service practice in the U.S.
A proud father of an eight-year-old girl, Ivanov has been successful in combining his personal and professional responsibilities with the demands of the EMBA program.
