Prof. Yavor Siderov (translator) and Prof. Rositsa Gradeva (editor) will present the book “Ataturk: A History of Ideas”, by M. Şükrü Hanioğlu on November 20, 2024 (Wednesday), at 19:30 at Panitza Library. All are welcome!
About the Book:
Hanioğlu’s book on Mustafa Kemal Atatürk is much more than a biography of the great Turkish statesman. It delves into the history of his ideas, tracing their evolution and their impact on Turkish society. For Bulgarians, this work holds particular significance, as Atatürk stands out as one of the few world leaders of the interwar period who approached Bulgarian issues with genuine empathy and understanding. Unsurprisingly, this has fostered enduring admiration for his personality across all segments of Bulgarian society.
