On October 10, the Day of Bulgarian Archivists, AUBGers visited the Blagoevgrad State Archive. Led by their history professor, Dr. Simeon Simeonov, the students were welcomed by Dr. Desislava Georgieva, the head of the Archive, who introduced them to the structure and the vast collection of historical documents preserved there.
The visit included a tour of exhibitions prepared by senior experts Dragana Lazarova and Nikolay Mihaylov. These exhibits focused on traditional crafts and Bulgaria’s involvement in World War I, offering students a deeper look into the nation’s history. The students showed great interest in the archival treasures, demonstrating a genuine curiosity and appreciation for historical preservation.
This visit is one of the many initiatives that are part of the ongoing efforts to provide practical, hands-on learning experiences. By collaborating with external institutions like the Blagoevgrad State Archive, AUBG continues to enrich its academic offerings, giving students valuable insights across different fields.
