Sabina A. Wien

Dean of Students

Sabina A. Wien holds an MA in English and American Studies with a minor in German Studies from Sofia University, and an MA in German as a Foreign Language/Intercultural German Studies, with minors in Intercultural Communication and Slavic Studies from Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, Germany. During her studies, she spent a semester as an exchange student at the University of Pisa and completed her teaching internship at the Language Centre of the European University Institute in Florence, Italy.

Sabina’s AUBG journey began in Fall 2006. Before becoming Dean of Students in July 2021, she served as the Director of the English Language Institute (April 2020-July 2021) and was an Adjunct Instructor of Bulgarian Language and Culture. Throughout her time at AUBG, Dean Wien has mentored numerous co-curricular student initiatives, has been an active member of AUBG’s Epsilon Alpha Chapter of Phi Beta Delta Honor Society for International Scholars since 2009, and co-founded the AUBG MultiTalent Quest, a unique international two-round competition for high school juniors launched in 2017. Since 2021, Dean Wien has been an integral part of the OSUN Civic Engagement Initiative.

As Dean of Students, Sabina A. Wien oversees the Student Affairs Department at AUBG, focusing on co-curricular programs and student life support. Her responsibilities include fostering student wellbeing and co-curricular education in global ethical leadership, civic engagement, entrepreneurship and creativity. Sabina’s open-mindedness, empathy, exceptional intercultural fluency, communicative skills, and passion for youth empowerment are key to her role, enhancing the overall student experience and development at AUBG.
