Dr. Robert White

Dean of Faculty

Robert was born in Hamilton, New Zealand. He holds a first-class honors degree in law from the University of Waikato and a Ph.D. in
moral and political philosophy from the University of Auckland. Robert joined the AUBG faculty in fall 2008 on a one-year contract
relieving for another faculty member. After this faculty member decided not to return, Robert was offered a regular contract following an
international, competitive search. Robert served as Chair of the Department of Business from fall 2011 to spring 2016. He was appointed
Dean of Faculty in fall 2016. He finishes his term as Dean at the end of spring 2023.

Robert taught a course on Business Ethics for eight years before becoming Dean of Faculty. He has published on the ontological status of corporations, the distinction between profit maximization and profit prioritization, and the relationship between profit, value, and virtue. He has contributed chapters to books on Steve Jobs and the Mad Men television series. He has spoken at conferences in Bucharest,
Rotorua, Thessaloniki, and Warsaw.
