The evening will begin with opening remarks by Dr. Micheal Stratton, Professor of Management at AUBG, who will introduce the discussion with Todor Petkov (EMBA’20), General Manager of KBC Global Services Bulgaria. Drawing on his experience as both an educator and academic leader, Dr. Stratton will share how AUBG’s liberal arts approach to education translates into the Executive MBA experience and why qualities such as critical thinking, effective communication, collaboration, adaptability, and ethical leadership are increasingly essential for success in today’s business environment.

Dr. Micheal T. Stratton is Professor of Management at the American University in Bulgaria. Dr. Stratton’s teaching and research interests include a cross-disciplinary exploration of workplace behavior, organizational politics, and pedagogy. During his years as a faculty and academic leader, he has consulted with government agencies and worked closely with numerous practitioners across various Fortune 500 companies.

Prior to his AUBG appointment, Dr. Stratton served as Dean and Professor of Management from 2020-2024 in the J. Whitney College of Business and Technology at Georgia College & State University, Georgia’s dedicated public liberal arts university.

Todor Petkov (EMBA’20) is a successful business leader with truly international experience in the field of finance. Currently serving as General Manager of KBC Global Services Bulgaria, he completed the AUBG Executive MBA Program in 2020.

The evening’s keynote lecture will be delivered by Dr. Momchil Karpuzanov, Academic Director of the Graduate Programs at AUBG, who will present:

“A Brief History of Money: A Myth, a Tool, a Weapon”
