If the placement test is taken distantly and does not accurately reflect the needs of an applicant, the ELI retains the right to move the student to a higher or lower level within the first week of the course. INSTRUCTORS
All ELI instructors are university graduates with master's degrees in English and have substantial teaching experience in a multicultural academic environment. All but Beginner and Elementary level courses are taught by a team of instructors. Non-native English speakers focus on grammar and text, while native English speakers teach listening comprehension and conversation skills. The learner-centered environment at the Institute encourages participation, initiative, creativity, and responsibility. Classes are small (12-15 students per class) and interactive, while professors use state-of-the-art educational technology and a variety of modern techniques of English language instruction.
CERTIFICATES
Upon successful completion of an ELI course, a Certificate of Completion is prepared for each student. Each certificate issued by the ELI is unique to facilitate tracking and to discourage forgery. The certificate is signed by both of the student’s language instructors and the ELI Director and is stamped with the AUBG seal. The certificate is awarded during the final class meeting.
