Dates and times

First-year (FY), University Preparatory Program (UPP) and exchange students

Aug 25-27 – 8 am to 6 pm
Aug 28-29 – 9 am to 7 pm

Returning students

Sept 1-3 – 8 am to 6 pm
Sept 4-6 – 9 am to 7 pm

Starting August 2, you will be able to book an individual check-in slot via AUBG’s learning management system CANVAS. You will receive instructions on how to do this in advance. FY, UPP and exchange students, please attend and pay good attention to the CANVAS training on July 26 to learn how to use the platform.

Please do not plan to come to campus at the last possible moment. The time slots on the last day of your check-in period are limited.

If you cannot arrive within the given period, please email Residence Life (CC the Health Center) with a legitimate reason: e.g. plane ticket already bought, reservation cancellation would cost a fortune, etc. We will review your case and try to help you. Please understand that we cannot do check-ins outside of the announced periods. Exceptions will be made only for students who have requested in advance and have received confirmation.

Upon arrival, no more than one person will be allowed to accompany a student to their room to help with luggage etc. They must follow all COVID-19 related measures (mask, disinfection, etc.)

HEALTH DOCUMENTS:

Before you can move into your Residence Hall room, you need to stop by the Health Center. There you will have to present one of the following:

  • A certificate of completed vaccination against COVID-19 or a certificate of a positive PCR test within the previous six months. To ease the check-in process, you can email a copy to the Health Center in advance.
  • A negative PCR or rapid antigen test (recognized by the Ministry of Health) result. Rapid antigen tests can be done at the Health Center before check-in (cost no more than BGN 15).

FY, UPP and exchange students must submit their completed Health Certificate for student admission before or latest at check-in.

International Students can find information in English about Bulgaria’s COVID-19 related travel rules, EU Digital COVID Certificate, restrictions and measures in place here.

If you have questions or concerns, please send an email with your accommodation-related issue to Residence Life and with your health-related issue to the Health Center. For other student life-related questions, send an email to Dean of Students Sabina Wien. For academic questions, please contact AUBG’s Interim Provost and Dean of Faculty Dr. Robert White.
