The American University in Bulgaria Appoints Dr. Steven Sullivan as Acting PresidentMarch 14, 2017
13 March 2017, Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria and Washington DC, USA – The American University in Bulgaria (www.aubg.edu), a leader in Liberal Arts education and a fully accredited institution of higher learning in both the United States and Bulgaria, announced today that its Board of Trustees appointed Dr. Steven F. Sullivan as Acting President.
President Sullivan has been a longstanding member of the AUBG community. He came to AUBG nineteen years ago, in 1998, and has served as a faculty member, Dean of Faculty, and Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs. He is an accomplished and highly respected administrator who has overseen advances in academic programs and enrollment. President Sullivan holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Economics from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and a B.S. in Economics and Political Science from Rice University.
“The Board is pleased to welcome Dr. Sullivan as Acting President,” said Dr. Ivan Manev, Chair of the Board of Trustees of AUBG. “He knows the University well and brings competence in academic affairs. He is widely respected by the AUBG community. I am looking forward to working with him.”
President Sullivan said: “I feel honored that the AUBG Board has entrusted me with the responsibilities of acting President at this important time in the life of AUBG. I feel confident that I can count on the support of the entire AUBG community in moving AUBG forward.”
