Holiday Spirit at the X-Mas BazaarDecember 05, 2014
The AUBG community got a glimpse of what coziness feels like at the 3rd Annual Christmas Bazaar this past Wednesday. Twenty smiling young people from the Bon Appetit Cooking Club served homemade cuisine, while the smell of cocoa with cinnamon and Santa-inspired dress code contributed to the Christmas mood. The initiative was created to support the Center for Roma children in Blagoevgrad.
The event deserved attention not only for the food that was served. The
table of the talented Aita Romanova who drew vivacious pictures for those who wanted a little bit of color on their faces, was positioned right under the stairs and the hand-made post cards, arranged in the midst of tangerines and glittering toys, added to the festive atmosphere.
Right across the aisle, standing undisturbed was the “Stotinki Jar”
(coin jar), another creative way to contribute to the charity initiative. Dr. Lynnette Leonard was on position, explaining the concept. Students were encouraged to place a small donation in the jar and to guess the amount, collected by the end of the day. The reward for the closest guess was a pan full of brownies.
