AUBG and SDA Bocconi Present Joint Executive Master’s Program in SofiaApril 04, 2017
The American University in Bulgaria (AUBG), ranked the top business administration education provider in Bulgaria and SDA Bocconi, business school No. 6 in the world, presented their first joint venture – an Executive Master’s program in Finance, Banking & Real Estate (EMFBRE). The 16-module program will take place in Sofia, starting October 2017.
“If you consider finance, banking and real estate, these are three sectors that are not related to a particular place. They are sectors where you need to be ‘globalized.’ So this is an opportunity for Bulgaria and East Europe to have high-level education,” said H.E. Stefano Baldi, the ambassador of Italy to Bulgaria. “This is a unique opportunity to have a certain level of education, a certain number of professionals, to be educated at such level [as] to be competitive regionally, of course locally, and worldwide,” he elaborated.
The cost of the unique educational opportunity will amount to EUR 22,500. The program will attract top-notch professionals who are looking for exceptional professional development opportunities. “Lifelong learning is a must for every professional because we live in a fast-changing business environment. Globalization makes it necessary that we build on our qualifications regularly. That is why no top manager possesses the luxury to graduate form a single program and then to count on only on hands-on experience. That is why I think this [program] gives a great opportunity to enhance one’s qualification and practice lifelong learning,” added AUBG’s Provost Emilia Zankina.
The EMFBRE graduates will earn two degrees – from SDA Bocconi and from AUBG – that will be recognized in Europe and the U.S. “It could be a real experience to have double faculty,” said Leonardo Etro, professor in corporate finance and real estate at SDA Bocconi, referring to the fact that both AUBG and SDA Bocconi professors will be teaching the courses.
The program focuses on theoretical and practical knowledge, critical and analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills, while emphasizing key corporate culture elements: a fine blend of leadership and respect for others, ethics and appreciation of diversity, values and solidity. “An absolutely world-class business education is now going to be available right here, in Bulgaria, that will prepare people for the most senior-level positions in finance, banking and real estate and it is a great opportunity,” said Steven Sullivan, AUBG acting president.
Maurizio Dalloccio, corporate finance professor and director of the program on behalf of Bocconi, shared very specific advice to the ones who consider enrolling. “Be ambitious. Be determined. Be committed – otherwise you are completely crazy, because this course costs as much as EUR 22,500. Be strong, because you will be exposed to a lot of efforts [in order] to succeed. And be responsible, because once you have all the weapons that we will be offering to you during this course, you will be powerful,” he recommended to aspiring candidates for the program.
