A Record Number of Participants Took Part in AUBG Olympics 2017April 27, 2017
A record participation rate marked the twelfth edition of AUBG Olympics – the largest sports event for university students in Bulgaria. A total of 120 contestants ran the marathon – almost four times more compared to previous years.
The participant who won the most medals, Plamen Kostov, received his prize from the Paralympic athlete and three-times world champion in broad jump Mihail Hristov.
Traditionally, AUBG Olympics features charity initiatives. Hristov inspired this year’s campaign, where the organizers fundraised for eco building in Sofia that will house sports equipment for disabled athletes.
“I would like to express my gratitude towards the entire AUBG community, who helped to make this year’s AUBG Olympics such a huge and wonderful event,” said Tomislav Marinov, AUBG Olympics vice president.
