Information for AUBG Commencement Guests
The AUBG Commencement Ceremony will take place at the city square, adjacent to the Blagoevgrad Municipality building.
In the event of light rain, the ceremony remains outdoors, and guests and participants are advised to be prepared for such weather.
Should there be severe weather, the ceremony will take place at the Peyo Yavorov Hall, located next to AUBG main entrance. If there is any uncertainty as to the ceremony location because of unstable weather, announcements regarding the place of the Ceremony will be posted on the Peyo Yavorov Hall and AUBG front doors.

Please plan to arrive in Blagoevgrad by 9:30 a.m. to allow plenty of time for you to park your car and find your seat. A few minutes before 10:30 a.m., the reserved seating area will be closed off, in order for the academic processional to begin.
A special reserved seating area in both the city square and the Peyo Yavorov Hall has been designated for graduates’ family members, VIP guests, and AUBG board members. Reserved seating is provided by guest tickets, coded with different colored dots.
Graduates’ parents do not receive their guest tickets along with their invitations. Seniors may pick up their family members' tickets from the Commencement Welcome Center (10 a.m. – 6 p.m. at the Aspire Hub) on the Friday and Saturday before the ceremony. All guests should bring their guest tickets, as they will provide access to the reserved seating area at the Commencement Ceremony. This will help our student assistants guide you to your seats. Guests without tickets will be directed to take a seat in the general public area.
If it rains and the ceremony takes place in the Peyo Yavorov Hall, due to limited space only two of graduates’ family members (these with green dot on their guest tickets), VIP guests, and AUBG board members will be admitted to view the actual ceremony. The AUBG Main Building Auditorium will be available for the other family members of the graduates (those without dots on their tickets) and other guests (those with orange dots on their tickets) to view the ceremony over closed circuit television. After all guests with tickets are seated, the general public will be admitted to the AUBG main building to view the ceremony projected on a screen.
The use of mobile phones is disruptive to both participants and guests. Please keep cell phones turned off during the ceremony.
Access to AUBG Main Building
On Sunday the AUBG main building will be closed to everyone but graduating seniors, faculty, working staff, board members, and special Commencement guests.
