Information For EMBA Graduates
The AUBG Commencement Ceremony will take place at the city square, adjacent to the Blagoevgrad Municipality building.
In the event of light rain, the ceremony remains outdoors, and guests and participants are advised to be prepared for such weather.
In case of severe weather, the ceremony will take place at the Peyo Yavorov Hall, located next to AUBG main entrance.
If there is any uncertainty as to the ceremony location because of unstable weather, announcements regarding the place of the ceremony will be available on the Peyo Yavorov Hall and AUBG front doors, and via email.
EMBA Graduates’ Activities on Commencement Morning

Please report to the robing area at 8:30 a.m. Make sure you have your receipt with you if you have paid for any item of your regalia set. Since other activities will be going on in the Main Building on Commencement morning and access to certain areas will be restricted, you are required to stay in your robing area.
Between 8:30 a.m. and 9:15 a.m. you will be issued your academic regalia,
and let to go out to your guests and have family pictures taken. Note that tassels are worn on the right front side of the cap, and are shifted to left after degrees are conferred.
At 9:30 a.m. you should be lined up for your group class picture at the staircase to the Alen Mak Hotel. In case of rain, the senior group picture will be taken at the AUBG Grand Staircase.
At 9:45 a.m. you should be back to your robing area and be lined up in alphabetical order for the academic procession. It is of crucial importance that you stay in line after 9:15 a.m. Please be patient with this process, since it will take some time. Please, also do not forget to turn off your mobile phone during the line up, the procession, and the ceremony.
In no more than one hour after the ceremony is over, please, return your borrowed regalia items to your robing area.
EMBA Graduates Regalia: Gowns, Hood, Caps & Tassels
You are allowed to keep your cap and tassel as a memento of the University, and borrow or purchase an AUBG master's gown and hood from the university stock for the Commencement ceremony.
Those of you who want to purchase their own academic regalia item can choose a payment option of your preference at www.aubg.edu/payments. Please, specify your ID number in the subject field of the transfer and fill in and e-mail a regalia order form to the EMBA Office.
Those who wish to stay in a hotel in Blagoevgrad have several options.
If you and your guests plan to arrive in Blagoevgrad on Sunday, please do so by 8:30 a.m. This will allow sufficient time for parking and for your guests’ arrival at the city square. A few minutes before 10:00 a.m., the reserved seating area will be closed off for the academic processional to begin.
Invitations and Reserved Seating for EMBA Graduates’ Family Members
You may pick up the invitations to your guests from the EMBA Office in early April. Please note that the commencement invitational mailing to your guests will consist of an invitation and an explanation insert, which is not a pass for the ceremony.
Reserved Seating at the ceremony for your guests will be ensured by the commencement guest tickets which you may pick up from the EMBA Office also in early April. Note that the same tickets will provide entrance to the President's Reception on Saturday.
Guest tickets are free of charge and are limited to three per graduate. They guarantee seating in the reserved seating area for the outside ceremony. In case of rain on Sunday, the guest tickets marked with green dots will guarantee access to the Peyo Yavorov hall, and the tickets without a dot will provide access to the AUBG Main Building, where the ceremony will be live streamed.
Please NOTE that students bear the full responsibility for not having their guests accommodated if they misplace their tickets. Additional tickets will NOT be issued.
On Commencement Day all guests without tickets will be directed to take a seat in the area designated for the general public.
