Important information about Summer Camp 2022

Our main priority is to ensure a healthy and safe environment for all participants, and a pleasant, risk-free experience for all our campers.  To ensure this we have implemented strict health measures:

  • Participation in the Summer Camp 2022 will happen in accordance with the state regulations of the Republic of Bulgaria;
  • In order to ensure social distancing, spaces for the short–term classes in the camp are limited to 15. In case of excessive number of students for a particular class, students will be randomly assigned to alternative classes upon availability;
  • Early or late accommodation for the Summer Camp 2022 is NOT allowed. Exceptions will be made ONLY in case of international travel restrictions and flight limitations when arrival or departure on the dates of camp is impossible and will result in an additional fee of 14 EURO. The fee must be wired via bank transfer to AUBG together with the camp fee.
  • AUBG is following the WHO recommendations on the COVID – 19 pandemic situation. Additional information and further details are available here.

Important dates:

  • Arrival: Sunday, July 3
  • Last day of activities: Friday, July 16
  • Departure: Saturday, July 17

Airport transfer:

If you have requested transfer in advance, AUBG staff will meet your child at the airport with a sign saying “AUBG Transport.”  The airport transfer fee is to be paid in advance via bank transfer.

Arrival day schedule:

  • 10:00 am - 6:00 pm         Checking in the rooms
  • 12:00 pm - 6:00 pm         Registration for the Camp
  • 6:00 pm                                  First dinner
  • 7:30 pm                                  Welcome and evening activities

Housing information:

  • Linens and towels are provided;
  • Laundry service is available in the residence hall /price per load TBC/;
  • Every student will have access to AUBG internet /there is a hotspot  in the Student Center`s common parts/
  • There is a Health Center on campus and a doctor and a nurse on duty;

Safety and security:

  • There is 24-hr security in the building;
  • There are no safes available in the rooms.  We recommend that the child does not bring expensive valuables.

Spending money:

  • Spending money will be needed for snacks, shopping in Blagoevgrad or during trips and for personal expenses.
  • All other expenses are included in the fee.

  • 10:30 am                               Students have to be in the residence hall;
  • 11:00 am                               Students have to be in their rooms;               

Internet:

Wireless internet is available in the ABF Student Center and Balkanski Academic Center where the students have their classes, meals and free time.

Every student also has an AUBG Computer Lab Account, which they can use in the computer lab, in the Residence Hall.

What to bring to the Summer Camp?

  • Personal ID;
  • The original Parental Consent form (completed and signed by the parent/s);
  • Comfortable clothes (shorts, T-shirts, and clothes you are willing to sit on the ground; keep in mind July in Blagoevgrad is hot);
  • Comfortable shoes for walking;
  • Athletic clothes and shoes (for our sports activities);
  • Sandals/flip-flops;
  • Sunglasses, sunscreen and a hat;
  • Swimwear and a beach towel (for a possible visit to a local swimming pool);
  • Jacket (for cooler/rainy days);
  • Umbrella;
  • Extra pocket money for snacks and shopping in Blagoevgrad or during the camp trips.
  • One plain white T-shirt (that you will transform during an activity);
  • Anything that would help you display your talents (for our Talent Show);
  • Anything that could represent your country and culture (for our International Night);
  • A smart/formal summer outfit for the certificate ceremony.
