What is a Pathway?

The pathway program combines intensive English language classes with field specific courses. It prepares students for their successful admission to leading universities, strengthening both language skills and academic knowledge. A pathway program gives students the unique opportunity to experience university campus life and enjoy participation in student clubs, academic events and sport programs in a safe and secure environment.

Smartversity Pathways

The program is designed in such way that upon successful completion it enables the students to continue their university degree education in the desired field in any European country. Those who successfully complete the program, against additional payment (1,100 USD), can continue their education to level C1 and prepare for the TOEFL exam, allowing them to apply for AUBG and any other English-speaking university.

Pathway I

Entry requirements: 

GPA: 65%
Start: January 2020
End: September 2020
Loading: 1,200 academic hours
Content: General English language from Beginner to Advanced level, mentorship, field specific subjects, preparation for sitting IELTS exam and university entrance exam.
Success criteria: Good attendance rate (max 5% absence allowed) & above average mid-term results (70% and above)
Tuition fee: 7,250 USD

Pathway II

Entry requirements:

GPA: 65%
Start: May 2020
End: September 2020
Loading: 700 academic hours
Content: General English language from Intermediate to Advanced level, mentorship, field specific subjects, preparation for sitting IELTS exam and university entrance exam.
Success criteria: Good attendance rate (max 5% absence allowed) & above average mid-term results (70% and above) 
Tuition fee: 5,460 USD

Introduction to Academic Writing
This course prepares students to conduct academic research and write academic research papers. Students will be expected to critically assess sophisticated source material and integrate outside academic sources into their research papers. Special attention is placed upon the establishment of credibility through the use of reliable sources and the logical development of ideas and arguments.

Introduction to Language and Culture Studies
The course starts from the premise that all language acts are culturally based. Introducing the fundamental concepts and principles of modern languages, this course will stimulate curiosity about the study of human language and what it reveals about the human cultures it reflects. The main topics of the course focus on language and cultural diversity, cultural changes and more.

Medical Studies

The Medical Studies pathway prepares you to be fully ready for your degree studies at the desired university program in the following fields:

Introduction to Biology
The course is designed to equip students with basic concepts and vocabulary of biology for the purposes of proceeding their studies in the field of health sciences. The goal is to provide students with previous background in biology with English terminology in the field, covering different topics such as cell biology, animal physiology, developmental biology, molecular biology and genetics.

Introduction to Chemistry
This is an introductory course which prepares students with previous background in chemistry to progress to further study in chemistry. The course covers subjects in advanced high school level in the area of atomic structure, chemical bonding, solutions, organic and inorganic compounds and reactions, and gives the students better understanding of terms and abbreviations commonly encountered on the general health sciences studies.

Business & Management

The Business & Management pathway prepares you to be fully ready for your degree studies at the desired university program in the following fields:

Technology Engineering

The Technology and Engineering pathway prepares you to be fully ready for your degree studies at the desired university program in the following fields:

Introduction to Mathematics
This course stresses elementary mathematics and basic quantitative knowledge at the pre-calculus level. Students learn how to present a real-life problem in mathematical terms and model social and scientific phenomena.

Introduction to Physics
This course introduces some of the basic laws and principles of classical mechanics, thermodynamics, and statistical physics with an emphasis on how they can be used to explain important natural phenomena or technological developments.
