1. What are the required fees that I have to pay for the Fall 2020 semester?

2. Will AUBG provide tuition fee discounts to students who have been permitted to study online in the Fall 2020 semester?

AUBG will not provide any tuition fee discounts to students who have been approved to study online in the Fall 2020 semester.

3. I have already paid my tuition and required fees for the Fall 2020 semester as an on-campus student but I have been approved to switch to off-campus/online-only before the start of the semester. Am I entitled to receive a refund?

You will be eligible to receive the following refunds depending on whether you switch to off-campus or online-only student:

If you are a graduating senior and you have already paid the required tuition and fees for the Fall 2020 semester and you have been subsequently approved to move off-campus, you will be entitled to a refund of your housing fee. The refund will offset any unpaid fees you may owe to AUBG upon your graduation. If your housing refund exceeds the amount of unpaid fees, the difference will be paid after graduation to a bank account designated by you and provided that this difference is equal or larger than $50. If the difference is smaller than $50, it will not be refunded in cash but will be credited to your student account and used for academic transcripts and other services you may request from the university in the future.

If you are a graduating senior and you have already paid the required tuition and fees for Fall 2020 semester and you have been subsequently approved to study online only, you will be entitled to a refund of your housing fee, meal plan deposit and the portion of the student activity that exceeds $60. The refund will offset any unpaid fees you may owe to AUBG upon your graduation. If your housing refund exceeds the amount of unpaid fees, the difference will be paid after graduation to a bank account designated by you and provided that this difference is equal or larger than $50. If the difference is smaller than $50, it will not be refunded in cash but will be credited to your student account and used for academic transcripts and other services you may request from the university in the future.

4. If I start the Fall 2020 semester as an on-campus student but I subsequently move off-campus or switch to online education only student, am I entitled to a refund?

You will not be entitled to a refund unless you have been instructed by AUBG to leave the campus and/or switch to online-only instructions, in which case the Student Academic Policies for Fall 2020 will apply.

5. If I start the Fall 2020 semester as an online-only student or off-campus student and I subsequently return to campus before the end of the semester, what kind of fees do I have to pay to AUBG?

If you switch from being an off-campus student or an online-only student to on-campus during the Fall 2020 semester, you will be required to pay the following fees:

Students must pay all fees within 3 business days from the date that they return to campus. Failure to pay these fees may result, among others, in a deactivation of the student’s access cards.

6. I am a regular student and have been allowed to study online in the Fall 2020 semester. Am I still entitled to a partial housing refund and a meal plan deposit rollover from the Spring 2020 semester?

You are entitled to a partial housing fee refunds and a meal deposit rollover in accordance with the following table:

Spring 2021 – the entire unused meal plan deposit will be credited to the meal account of your student card.

If a student takes an LoA, withdraws, is suspended or studies online in the Spring 2021 semester, the student will lose the right to a meal deposit rollover.

Students with two semesters until graduation

Spring 2021 – the entire partial housing fee refund will be offset against any housing fees payable by the student

If a student takes an LoA, withdraws, is suspended, lives off-campus or studies online in the Spring 2021 semester, the student will lose the right to a partial housing fee refund.

Fall 2020 - the unused meal plan deposit will be rolled over to the Spring 2021 semester.


Spring 2021 – the unused meal plan deposit will be credited to the meal account of the student’s card.

If a student takes an LoA, withdraws, is suspended, or studies online in the Spring 2021 semester, the student will lose the right to a meal deposit rollover.

Graduating seniors in Fall 2020 semester

If the student successfully fulfills all graduation requirements after completing the Fall 2020 semester, the student’s partial housing refund and unused meal plan deposit from the Spring 2020 semester will be offset against any unpaid fees the student may owe to AUBG upon graduation. If the student’s housing refund and the unused meal plan exceed the amount of unpaid fees, the difference will be paid after graduation to a bank account designated by the students, provided that this difference is larger than $50. If the difference is equal or smaller than $50, it will not be refunded in cash but will be credited to the student’s account and used for academic transcripts and other services the student may request from the university in the future.

If the student is unable to fulfill the graduation requirements upon completing the Fall 2020 semester, the student’s partial housing refund and unused meal plan deposit will be applied to housing fees and added to the meal account of the student card in the Spring 21 semester. No refunds beyond the Spring 21 semester will be provided.

If a student takes an LoA, withdraws, is suspended, lives off-campus or studies online in the Spring 2021 semester, the student will lose the right to a partial housing fee refund and a meal plan deposit rollover.

7. I am a regular student in Fall 2020 and have been allowed to live off-campus during the Fall 2020 semester? Am I still entitled to receive a partial housing refund and a meal plan rollover from the Spring 2020 semester?

You are entitled to a partial housing fee refunds and a meal deposit rollover in accordance with the following table:

8. I have already paid a housing deposit of $150 to confirm my place in the residence halls for the Fall 2020 semester but I have now been approved to live off-campus and/or study online in the Fall 2020 semester. Will AUBG refund the housing deposit that I have paid?

The Fall 2020 housing deposit will be rolled over to the Spring 2021 semester and will be applied to your housing fee payable for that semester. If you chose to live off-campus in the Spring 2021 semester, the deposit will be forfeited. The deposit cannot be rolled over beyond the Spring 2021 semester.

If the student successfully fulfills all graduation requirements after completing the Fall 2020 semester, the student’s housing deposit for the Fall 2020 semester will be offset against any unpaid fees the student may owe to AUBG upon graduation. If the student’s housing refund exceeds the amount of unpaid fees, the difference will be paid after graduation to a bank account designated by the students, provided that this difference is larger than $50. If the difference is equal or smaller than $50, it will not be refunded in cash but will be credited to the student’s account and used for academic transcripts and other services the student may request from the university in the future.

9. I have been approved to receive a grant from the Student Support Fund (SSF). At the same time, I have been approved to study online or live off-campus in the Fall 2020 semester. Can I keep the grant from the SSF for the Fall 2020 semester?

Students who have been allowed by AUBG to study online or live off-campus can keep the grant from the Student Support Fund (SSF).

10. I have an unused meal plan deposit from the Spring 2020 semester, which will be rolled over to my account for the Fall 2020 semester. Am I required to pay the mandatory $150 meal plan deposit for the Fall 2020 semester?

All students except those who have been approved to study online are required to pay the mandatory $150 meal plan deposit for the Fall 2020 semester.

11. If I am instructed to leave the campus during the Fall 2020 semester, will I be entitled to a refund of my Fall 2020 housing fee and student activity fee?

Please refer to the Student Academic Policies for Fall 2020.

12. If I arrive on campus after the 6th week of the semester, will I get a full or partial refund of the meal plan deposit payment for the Fall 2020 semester?

The meal plan deposit for Fall 2020 is non-refundable.

13. I am a US citizen and would like to receive Federal Direct Loans. Am I eligible to receive such loans if I have been approved to live off-campus and/or study online?

For questions concerning US Federal Loans, Private and bank loans, please contact AUBG’s Student Loan Office. The Loan Coordinator will inform you whether you are eligible or not for a loan and will calculate the loan amount you may apply.
