In the Spring ’22 semester, the AUBG Business Department will introduce Topics in Finance Practice: Venture Capital and Private Equity.
Meet your instructors for a presentation on Nov. 17 at 4:00 pm at the Andrey Delchev Auditorium to learn more about the course. Joining professor Andrey Gurov in teaching are Vassil Terziev (’01; Eleven Ventures), Elvin Guri (’96; Empower Capital), Evgeny Angelov (Silverline Capital), Todor Breshkov (LAUNCHub Ventures), Tihomir Dyankov (’11; Empower Capital), and mentors Valya Nadova (’13; LAUNCHub Ventures) and Maria Marinova (’13; BVCA).

The presentation will be followed by informal networking at Aspire starting 7:30 pm.
Developed in partnership with the Bulgarian Private Equity & Venture Capital Association (BVCA), the course explores the fundamentals of Venture Capital & Private Equity (VC/PE) investments with a focus on the current development of the VC/PE ecosystem in the Balkan region. The course will start with an introduction into the world of VC/PE, looking into transaction types and structures, legal frameworks and fundraising efforts. During the semester, students will explore the main stages of VC/PE investing and have the opportunity to review and debate real-world examples presented and discussed by representatives from leading Bulgarian VC/PE firms. Students taking this course will develop deep understanding on the inner workings of the VC/PE industry and will discover the tools and methods used by industry experts to evaluate, structure and value potential investments.
