Debate: Bulgaria and the New EU Framework on Roma Integration: Towards Inclusive and Participative Education?

Online debate featuring policy experts and civil society representatives Q&A sessions with the audience.
As the 2012-2020 EU framework for Roma integration came to an end, assessments of the national implementation programs pointed to enduring challenges in the fields of employment, education, health and housing. For Bulgaria, civil society reports indicate that the most tangible progress in terms of Roma inclusion and equality of opportunities has been recorded in education, even though a lot remains to be done. What has been achieved and where do we need to try harder? Which policies should be emphasized in Bulgaria' new National Roma Integration Strategy so that its education system becomes more equal, inclusive and participative, in line with the goals of EU’s 2020-2030 framework?
