Elitsa Zhivkova Dermendzhiyska, Class of 2012, Social Entrepreneur and Science Writer.
"Straight off AUBG, I was admitted into a top 5 global MBA program (IESE Business School), but went to Bali instead, to join a startup incubator. I then moved to London, where I co-founded an innovation funding consultancy. I left in 2016 to study mental health and somehow fell into writing (what they call 'creative nonfiction'). This led to a number of science articles on social rejection, depression genes and psychotherapy that were later published in the UK (Aeon magazine), the US (Guardian) and Italy (Internazionale). Currently, I'm the editor of "What Doesn't Kill You" - an anthology of personal stories by 13 UK authors and thinkers - and a social entrepreneur exploring the potential of video games in mental health.”
