Digital Marketing Specialist

The American University in Bulgaria is a distinguished higher education institution renowned for its commitment to academic excellence. As a leader in the country’s education landscape, AUBG is seeking a highly organized and dedicated individual to serve as the Digital Marketing Specialist.

Key Responsibilities

  • Content Development: Collaborate with the OCM’s content team to create engaging and optimized content for various digital platforms, including website pages, blog posts, social media updates, and email campaigns. 
  • Social Media Management: Assist in the execution of social media strategies by scheduling posts, monitoring engagement, responding to comments, and contributing ideas for creative content to build and maintain a strong social media presence. 
  • Website updates: Take ownership of the timely updates and maintenance of the AUBG website, ensuring accuracy, relevance, and a seamless user experience. 
  • Digital Advertising Support: Contribute to the setup, monitoring, and optimization of digital advertising campaigns across platforms like Google Ads, Facebook Ads, or other relevant channels, ensuring alignment with campaign objectives.
  • Email marketing: Develop and master Slate skills and capabilities related to email and SMS communication. Creation of relevant communication strategies; building of queries and mass emails using liquid markup and conditional logic, etc. that serves the efforts for both undergraduate and graduate recruitment; Create and maintain mass messaging campaigns for senior prospects, non-senior prospects, agents, high schools, and other key partners; Build and maintain email templates and event communication flows. 
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Assist in analyzing marketing campaign performance metrics using tools like Google Analytics, social media insights, Slate drip campaigns results or other analytics platforms to generate reports, extract actionable insights, and contribute recommendations for campaign optimization. 
  • Research and Trend Analysis: Conduct research on industry trends, competitor analysis, and audience behavior to identify opportunities, propose new ideas, and contribute to the development of innovative digital marketing strategies. 
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams including content creators, admissions counselors and recruiters to ensure cohesive brand messaging and consistent implementation of marketing strategies across various digital channels. 
  • Learning and Development: Proactively seek opportunities to learn and expand knowledge in digital marketing by staying updated on industry trends, attending webinars, and participating in relevant training sessions to enhance skill set and contribute innovative ideas. 

Requirements and Desired Qualifications

  • A university degree is required
  • Google AdWords certification is an advantage; Google Analytics certification is an advantage.   
  • An understanding of and profound interest in the digital world – familiarizing oneself with different key areas like email marketing strategies, online recruitment, current technological developments, social media strategies, understanding of digital measurement techniques (Google Analytics, etc.), ability to keep up with the progress in the field. Proficiency with all Microsoft Office programs and familiarity with platforms ss such as Google Ads, Google Analytics, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, and CRM systems.  
  • Excellent communication skills, attention to detail; ability to work independently and in a team; ability to balance responsibilities and work on tight deadlines; project management; fluent in English and Bulgarian; willingness to learn.
