The American University in Bulgaria is in the unique position of being accredited both in the United States (by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges) and in Bulgaria (by the National Agency for Evaluation and Accreditation). AUBG is chartered as an institution of higher education by an act of the Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria.
