AUBG EMBA Hosts Master Classes on Value Creation Wheel and Innovation and Design

The Marketing Master Class on Value Creation Wheel with Professor Luis Filipe Lages will take place on November 10, 2017. It will explore the Value Creation Wheel (VCW): a real-life problem solving framework which helps to solve the priority challenges and problems of organizations, governments, societies, and individuals. The VCW uses the input from internal and external stakeholders to discover implementable solutions.

The event is suitable for professionals from various spheres of the economy, interested in further development of problem solving attitudes and skills as well as for business leaders deeply involved in the strategic, operational and creative aspects of new products and services.

Lages is a full professor (catedrático) in marketing, innovation and international business at Nova SBE, Portugal. He conducted doctoral research at Warwick University (UK) and post-doctoral research at MIT (USA) and Stanford University (USA).

For the last two decades, Lages has been a visiting scholar in different universities across the globe, such as Aix-Marseille University, LBS, Korea University, MIT and Vienna University. Currently, he collaborates with different business, engineering and science schools across the globe as well as with the MIT-Portugal program (Lisbon MBA & PhD programs in Energy, Transports, Engineering Design, Manufacturing), where he coordinates the Innovation Module in Bioengineering Systems.

The Master Class on Innovation and Design with Adam Billing will take place on December 2, 2017. The program content is designed for professionals of any role, level or background.  No prior design thinking or innovation knowledge is required. The master class is a fast-paced, highly interactive 1-day learning experience that gives participants a strong practical grounding in the tools, process and mindsets of design thinking. 

Innovation is an essential survival skill for leaders and teams, especially when change is happening faster than ever. The most successful companies understand that continuous innovation and growth requires people to be equipped with the tools to think and work differently. Design thinking is a human-centered innovation methodology used by companies such as Google, P&G and Apple to do just that. It enables people to more deeply understand customer needs, identify market opportunities, and rapidly develop new products and services before competitors. 

Billing is an associate of Møller PSF Group and also the founder and director of Treehouse Innovation, a leading innovation consultancy based in London. He is an experienced practitioner, lecturer and facilitator, specializing in innovation culture, user-centered design, creativity and cross-boundary collaboration. Billing has worked closely with the senior leadership teams of professional service firms and global organizations across industries to define and implement innovation strategy, foster a culture of innovation and promote effective collaboration within and between organizations.

Both events will take place in Bulgaria’s capital Sofia.
