AUBG in Georgia

It is already a tradition for the American University in Bulgaria to visit Georgia. The AUBG coordinator  for Georgia – Tsvetanka Grahovska – has visited the country and she is amazed by the beautiful nature, Georgian dances and the unique culture and traditions (I will not mention anything here about the cuisine J). But Georgia’s best treasure are the people – highly intelligent, open minded and with big hearts.

Currently we have 37 students from Georgia and without them the university will not be the same. As always, we were impressed by the cultural value of our Georgian students shared by the traditional dances and food during the AUBG International Week this year. You can see more here!  Not only this, but Georgian students also participate in the Student Government and very actively take part in the students’ life on campus.

Since now there are 47 graduated students from Georgia - each of them successful in a different area. Here are some examples:

 •       Jaba Shalamberidze, class of 2012 – Retail Coordinator Caucasus & Central Asia, Fawaz Alhokair Fashion Retail;

•       Aleksandre Metreveli, class of 2009 – National Bank of Georgia, Head of Division;

•       Papuna Lezava, class of 2008, World Bank, USA, Washington DC;

•       Mirian Jugheli, class of 2011, Consultant, IREX, Georgia;

•       Nino Gugushvili, class of 2006, Audit Supervisor, KMPG Audit;

•       Irakli Jibladze, class of 2005, General Electric, Hungary.

Some of our alumni from Georgia decide to continue their education in Europe, United States and all over the world. Last year the Presidential Medalist, announced by President Easton, was Mariami Gachechiladze from Georgia with majors Computer Science and Mathematics. She was accepted at the University of Oxford. This year Tamaz Lezhava was accepted to Columbia University, NY, USA.

From the very beginning AUBG works with the Center for International Education in Tbilisi. The local coordinator there – Ms. Natia Nanava is a special part of the AUBG family. She organizes personal consultation with prospective students and their families and presents the university at educational fairs, forums, class visits, etc. She knows each of the students personally and follows closely their progress during their studies at AUBG and even after graduation.

Come and join us! Be part of the best university in South-East Europe and part of the best group ever!
